What Dr Who can do, nature can do so much
better.
I have rediscovered a whole world of magnificent monsters
seemingly from another world.

Some use the discarded homes of others for their homes, others
can rip things to shreds with their huge claws, while some are so
clever they can live happily in the water but when required drag
their fishy bodies over land to escape any attack.
What is most amazing is that this monstrous paradise is so accessible
when by the sea. I had a few days last month doing some proper seaside
exploring and the world I found truly took my breath away.

On one tiny section of beach I found; the cunning hermit crab,
the vicious looking shore crab and the gorgeous and hardy butterfish.
The butterfish is also the main diet of another seaside beauty:
the black guillemot.
These creatures are so alien like that it is real sci-fi escapism
watching and photographing them. If you get a chance, go down to
any beach at low tide and discover your own Dr Who baddies.

Alba update
We had a little wobble last month. Progress with Alba had been
going very well, then he ran away for two and a half hours. This
is the longest he has ever been away for and the first time he has
ran off for months. Unfortunately it was really my fault due to
a busy week resulting in less training than normal for him. So we
are back to lots of heel work and recall training. I have bought
a whistle and that has made a huge difference. I am now training
stop, change direction, lie down and recall with different pips
on the whistle.
Hopefully next month I will have introduced his first proper scent
find, fingers crossed!!!!
